1. When did CPACharge support in TaxDome end?
The CPACharge integration in TaxDome was supported through May 10, 2026. After that date, the integration is no longer available.
2. After CPACharge was disconnected, are historical invoices and payments still visible in TaxDome?
Yes — existing invoices and payments remain visible in TaxDome.
3. Did I need to disconnect CPACharge before connecting TaxDome Payments?
No. CPACharge was disconnected automatically on May 10, 2026 — no action was required in CPACharge itself.
4. After CPACharge was disconnected, what happens to unpaid invoices?
Once you connect a new payment provider, clients can pay them. Existing invoices automatically route through the new provider.
If you do not connect a payment provider, clients see the invoices but cannot pay them, and they receive a message to contact your firm.
Recurring invoices continue to be created, but clients cannot pay them until a new payment provider is connected.
5. After CPACharge was disconnected, how can I refund a previous payment?
To refund a charge from a disconnected payment provider, do so directly through their dedicated portal. Those refunds are not reflected in TaxDome.
6. Do my clients need to do anything?
No action is required from your clients.
7. Can payment methods saved in CPACharge be transferred to a new provider?
Payment methods saved in CPACharge are stored in the CPACharge portal and cannot be transferred to TaxDome.
Once a new payment provider is connected, you can manually enter payment details (bank account or credit card) and charge payments to saved payment methods on file.
8. What happens if I don’t connect to a payment provider?
Until a payment provider is connected, clients cannot make online payments. You can still issue invoices and record offline payments.
9. Can I keep using CPACharge outside TaxDome?
Yes. You can maintain your CPACharge account outside of TaxDome. TaxDome no longer provides integration, payment sync, or refund functionality for those payments.
10. Is there any impact on QuickBooks Online sync?
No. The QuickBooks Online integration is not affected by your payment provider.
11. Which payment providers can I connect to?
The available providers depend on your location and current setup:
- If you don’t have any other active providers and your firm is in the US, you can connect to TaxDome Payments
- If you don’t have any other active providers and your firm is in Canada, you can connect Stripe
- If you have an existing Stripe connection, it is set as a default automatically. TaxDome Payments is built on Stripe infrastructure—they share the same architecture and your existing Stripe connection supports the same core capabilities. Firms with existing Stripe connections will be transitioned to TaxDome Payments later this year.
12. Does disconnecting CPACharge affect document locking?
Yes. Document locking requires an active payment provider. If CPACharge was your only connected provider, the option to lock documents to invoices will be unavailable until you connect a new payment provider. Once a new provider is connected, document locking will work as before.
