Get started as a team member in TaxDome
Welcome to TaxDome. This guide walks you through activating your account, setting up your preferences, and finding the resources you need to start working with clients, jobs, tasks, communication, documents, and organizers.
Activate and set up your account
Once your firm owner invites you to TaxDome, you’ll receive an email inviting you to activate your account. The activation screen guides you through each step — for full details, see Team-member registration and set-up .
As soon as you have your account, set it up right away:

Adjust the language settings : If your firm language differs from the one you are most comfortable with, you can change it, and it won’t affect anyone else’s settings.

Upload your photo : Upload your photo so your team members and clients can easily identify you.

Sync your email : Sync your email with TaxDome so you can email clients without switching tabs.

Set notification preferences : Choose what you want to be notified about so you don’t miss anything important and don’t get overwhelmed.

Find clients and read account profiles
Most of your work starts with finding the right client and opening their account. These articles cover where client information lives and how to navigate it.

Work with the client account list : Use search, filters, and tags to find any client and start working with them.

Work on assigned tasks
Tasks are the to-dos assigned to you — read requirements, upload documents, leave comments, and mark them complete from one place.

Work on assigned jobs
Jobs represent the actual work you deliver to clients. They live inside pipelines and move through stages as the work progresses.

Work on a job : Open a job, complete its tasks, leave comments, and add documents.

Communicate with clients and team
TaxDome keeps client conversations and internal team chats in one place. Use chats for quick exchanges and email for formal communication.

Send emails : Send and receive emails directly from TaxDome once your email is synced.

Team mentions : @mention colleagues to pull them into a conversation or notify them of an action item.

Work with documents
Most client work flows through documents — uploads, reviews, downloads, and the right permissions on every folder.

Document and folder permissions : Learn how folder structure and permission levels control what clients can and can’t see.

Upload documents : Upload single files or folders, drag-and-drop from your desktop, and place files in the correct location.

Manage documents : Review, edit, download, print, and filter documents inside an account.

Move files and folders and change their visibility : Reorganize documents and adjust who can see each folder.
Work with organizers
Organizers collect structured information from clients. As a team member, your job is usually to review what clients submit and act on it.

Review organizer answers : Open submitted organizers, read client answers, and submit on a client’s behalf when needed.
