Get started as a team member in TaxDome

Welcome to TaxDome. This guide walks you through activating your account, setting up your preferences, and finding the resources you need to start working with clients, jobs, tasks, communication, documents, and organizers.

Activate and set up your account

Once your firm owner invites you to TaxDome, you’ll receive an email inviting you to activate your account. The activation screen guides you through each step — for full details, see Team-member registration and set-up .

As soon as you have your account, set it up right away:

  • Adjust the language settings : If your firm language differs from the one you are most comfortable with, you can change it, and it won’t affect anyone else’s settings.

  • Upload your photo : Upload your photo so your team members and clients can easily identify you.

  • Sync your email : Sync your email with TaxDome so you can email clients without switching tabs.

  • Set notification preferences : Choose what you want to be notified about so you don’t miss anything important and don’t get overwhelmed.

To start working in TaxDome confidently, get familiar with the platform’s core concepts:

Find clients and read account profiles

Most of your work starts with finding the right client and opening their account. These articles cover where client information lives and how to navigate it.

Work on assigned tasks

Tasks are the to-dos assigned to you — read requirements, upload documents, leave comments, and mark them complete from one place.

Work on assigned jobs

Jobs represent the actual work you deliver to clients. They live inside pipelines and move through stages as the work progresses.

Communicate with clients and team

TaxDome keeps client conversations and internal team chats in one place. Use chats for quick exchanges and email for formal communication.

  • Client chats overview : Create threads, reply, request documents, and keep all client correspondence on the account.

  • Send emails : Send and receive emails directly from TaxDome once your email is synced.

  • Team mentions : @mention colleagues to pull them into a conversation or notify them of an action item.

  • Use Team chats : Run internal team conversations separately from client communication.

Work with documents

Most client work flows through documents — uploads, reviews, downloads, and the right permissions on every folder.

Work with organizers

Organizers collect structured information from clients. As a team member, your job is usually to review what clients submit and act on it.
