Onboarding: Get started as a team member in TaxDome
Welcome to TaxDome! This guide is here to help you get started smoothly so you can quickly familiarize yourself with the platform and collaborate effectively with your team. Let’s dive in and make any of the team member's onboarding experience seamless!
Activate and set up your account
Once your firm owner invites you to TaxDome, you will receive an email inviting you to activate your account. You will see all the instructions on the screen, but if you need any details, you can refer to the article.
As soon as you have your account, it makes sense to set it up right away:
- Adjust the language settings: If your firm language differs from the one you are most comfortable with, you can change it, and it won't affect anyone else's settings.
- Upload your photo: Upload your photo so your team members and clients can easily identify you.
- Sync your email: Sync your email with TaxDome, and you won't need to switch to another tab to email clients in TaxDome.
- Set the notification preferences: Set the notification preferences so you don't miss anything important but don't get overwhelmed by extra notifications.
Secure your account
Security is important for both you and your clients. To enhance your account security, we recommend setting up two-factor authentication.
This way, to log into the portal, you will need not only a login and password but also a temporary code from the authentication app.
Get to know the main features

Note! All team members can have different access rights, depending on their responsibilities, so some pages and actions might be unavailable to you.
To get used to working with TaxDome smoothly, you'll need to learn about the main concepts you'll be working with. We have several general resources that would help you with it:
- TaxDome dictionary: Keep this page open for your reference while getting to know TaxDome. It will help you quickly recap what each term means.
- TaxDome's beginner guide: Although you may not use all the features available in TaxDome, you might want to have a general view of the portal.
Prepare for everyday tasks
You'll probably be using these features more than others, so pay attention to mastering them now:
- Work with the account list: Here, you'll be able to find any client of yours and instantly start working with them.
- Try bulk actions: If you want to communicate with several clients at once or update their information without going one by one, you'll be glad to learn that many actions can be executed in bulk.
- Work with pipelines: Basically, one pipeline is one type of project you can be working with.
- Work with jobs: Likewise, one job is one specific service for a specific client you are working on. It always exists inside a pipeline and includes all the required information and action items.
- Work with tasks: Tasks are basic to-dos that help you manage all the outstanding action items and always be on time.
