Settings (Basic): Change language of portal, Windows app and emails
Learn how to change the language of the TaxDome web portal, Windows app and system-generated emails. The last option is available only to firm owners and admins, while the portal's language can be changed individually.

TaxDome supports the following languages for the portal and system-generated emails:
- Danish
- Dutch
- English (US and UK)
- Finnish
- French
- German
- Italian
- Japanese
- Norwegian
- Portuguese (including Brazilian Portuguese)
- Romanian
- Spanish
- Swedish
Change language
Change language of web portal
The language of the TaxDome portal is set individually for each user, regardless of whether they are the firm owner, a team member or a client. It's set according to the browser settings. However, if you decide to change the language settings for your portal, they will override them.
1. Click your profile at the top right.
2. Navigate to Account settings.
3. In the International settings section, choose the desired language.
The interface language will be changed instantly. Except for the interface, all TaxDome notifications will be switched to the chosen language and the date formats in custom fields will be set up according to these settings:
- MMM-DD-YYYY, MM-DD-YYYY and MM/DD/YYYY for US firms.
- DD-MM-YYYY and DD/MM/YYYY for non-US firms.
Change language of Windows app
The default language in the TaxDome Windows app is the same as the language you have set in your operating system. If you prefer to use a different language, you can change it anytime.
1. Click the three dots at the top right of the app screen.
2. Select Language.
3. Select the desired language from the list and click Apply.
Change language of system-generated emails
The firm owner determines the default language for all emails sent from TaxDome during registration. Only firm owner and admins can change it afterward. To do so:
1. Go to the Settings > Firm settings.
2. In the International settings section, select the preferred language.
This will change the language of such emails as:
- The invitation to create a new account for a client.
- The invitation to create a new account for a team member.
- The notification about an invoice that has been created.
- The notification about an organizer or client request has been sent.
- The notification about a new chat thread or new message.
- The notification about uploading a new document or one that needs approval.
