Finding your way around TaxDome

In this article, you will learn how to navigate in TaxDome.

Homepage

When you log into the portal or click the firm logo from any page, you will be taken to the Insights page. 

This page helps you handle your current projects once you start working on them. You can customize it to your liking and add widgets displaying your outstanding tasks, pending actions of your clients, jobs assigned to you and information about the team's performance.

From this page, you can start exploring TaxDome. The UI elements below can be accessed from any page:

  1. Sidebar menu
  2. The New button
  3. Global search bar
  4. Top bar
  5. Account settings

Sidebar menu

The sidebar menu on the left contains all the main sections of your portal and is displayed on all pages. It is intended for easy navigation and helps you, for example, access your Accounts list, firm tasks, clients documents, firm settings, billing information, templates for different entities, and so on.

If you want more space on your screen, click the pin icon and unpin the sidebar; you can always pin it again when needed. 

If you want to reduce eye strain, you can switch the sidebar menu to dark mode by using the toggle at the bottom of the menu. If you want to switch the whole portal to dark mode, you can use this guide.

Green circles next to the section names show you how many action items you have in the section. For example, these might be notifications in Inbox+ or tasks you are assigned. 

The New button

The New button on the top is the fastest way to create any new entity from any page. After you click it and select an entity you need, you can fill in all the entity details.

Global search bar

The search bar on the top allows you to search for accounts, contacts and documents by their name or its part. Click Global search to see all search results.

Top bar

The top navigation bar can be accessed from any page. It helps you quickly access all the actions you might need regardless of what you are working on:

Account settings

Whenever you want to change your account settings, such as notification preferences, the language of the portal, email, password or profile photo, click your name on the top right and select Account settings.
