Payment list (Basic): Filter, search, print
TaxDome gives you many tools to manage and keep track of your client’s payments. Access all payments at once or just those made by a specific client. Filter a list of payments, print or export them to a CSV file—and more.
Payments list
View all payments
Go to Billing > Payments from the left menu bar to get a glance at all the payments you’ve received.
- The total number of payments (includes payments with linked invoices, pre-payments, payments without invoices, promotional credits and failed payments)
- The total amount paid (includes payments with linked invoices, pre-payments, payments without invoices, promotional credits and failed payments)
- The total refund amount
- The total promotional credit amount
- The total revenue (total amount minus refund amount and promotional credit amount)
View payments for specific account
1. Go to Clients > Accounts from the left menu bar.
2. Click on the name of the needed client account.
3. Navigate to the Invoices tab > Payments subtab.
The Payments subtab in an account profile is available to a firm owner, admin, or any team member with access rights to manage payments.
Once you’re on the Payments page, you’ll see the following column names:
- #: Each payment has a unique number.
- Date: This is the date the payment was made.
- Status: The payment can be either Paid, Verifying payment, Incomplete, or Failed status.
- Amount: You’ll see how much the payment is for here.
- QuickBooks: If you have synced TaxDome with QuickBooks Online, you’ll see the payment sync status here.
- Synced: the payment is successfully synced.
- Not synced: the payment is not synced. The paid service could have been created before sync with QuickBooks Online.
- Syncing: the payment is being synced. This process takes time.
- Failed: a sync error has occurred. Hover your mouse over the status icon to see the error text, then fix it.
- Skipped: you skipped sync for this payment.
- Source: How payment was made. For example, if a client paid online with a card, you’ll see Credit Card.
- Client: The name of the account. Click on it to go to the account.
- Invoices paid: The number of the paid invoice. Click on it to view the details.
- Refund: If a payment has been refunded, the amount given back.
- Description: Payment details. With offline payments, you can see who added the payment.
When viewing a specific client’s payments page, you see the dollar amount of their outstanding invoices, available credits and unbilled time.
Customize list of payments
You can customize your list of invoices in different ways:
- Resize columns. To do so, click and hold the divider between column names and resize it by moving your mouse.
- Set up the columns you want to be displayed. To do so, click the gear icon at the top right of the table. In the right sidebar, enable, disable or move any columns you want, except for the # and Client columns. After clicking Apply, the table will be rebuilt with new columns. Clicking Reset will display all columns.
Print list of payments
To print a payment list, click the Print button at the top right of the page. Apply the print settings suggested by the browser.
Search for payments
To search for a payment by description, amount, client account or invoice number, type a keyword in the search field and press Enter. Click the x in the search field to clear it.
Filter list of payments
Use filters if you need to:
- Find specific payments quickly (e.g., the concrete account payments during the consultation with the client).
- Export details of particular payments to reconcile them with other data.
- Generate comprehensive financial reports (e.g., by choosing monthly payments).
The following payment filters are available:

Account name: see only payments from selected client accounts.

Source: see entries based on the source of payment (check, cash, credit card, promotional credit or direct bank debit).

Amount: see payments by amount. You can display only payments for a specific amount if you select Is equal. If you want a range of more or less than a certain amount, select Is greater than/Is less than.

Date: see only payments made during a specific period of time. You can select the ready-made filter (that day, last week/month/quarter/year) or set a timespan manually.

Status: see only payments in the concrete statuses (Paid, Failed, Incomplete, or Verifying payment).
To narrow down a list of payments, click + Filter at the left and select the filters. You can apply several filters.
Create presets to save filter combinations, allowing them to be applied with just one click next time. To create presets, customize the desired filters and save them as a preset.
Sort list of payments
Sort payments by account, amount, date paid, status and status of QuickBooks integration. Click the up-down arrows next to the chosen column name to sort the list. The sorting option can also be applied after searching or filtering payments.
