Onboarding: Invite and onboard your clients
Once you know the main TaxDome concepts and have set up the portal, you can start working with your clients there. In this guide, you will learn how to invite your clients and help them to feel confident with the portal.
Invite real clients
If your clients start using the portal, you can exchange documents, accept payments, communicate and exchange information right in the portal. They can even use the portal on the go with the mobile apps. For your clients to be able to access the portal, you need to invite them first.
Once clients receive an email invitation to their TaxDome portal, they must activate the account. To do so, they click on the link in the email and create a password.
You can invite your clients to the portal one by one or in bulk:
- One by one: Invite each client manually; it is the best option if you want to send custom messages along with each invitation. For example, if some of your clients need special instructions.
- In bulk: If your idea is to invite all your current clients to the portal, you can select them all and invite them all to the portal at once. You can add a message along with the invitation.
Encourage clients to use the portal
Some of your clients might be used to working with documents and asking questions simply via email. However, if they start using the portal, it can save your time and theirs.
The client portal can be their centralized hub for everything related to your projects. For them to understand its benefits, you need to encourage them to use the porta. This is what may be helpful for you:
- Get to know your login link: If you know it, you can share it with your clients or just add it to your website. Clients can sign up themselves from the login page.
- Introduce TaxDome to your clients: Find some advices on how to make your clients know about new portal.
- Tell your clients about the mobile app: In the client mobile app, your clients can communicate with you on the go and scan documents using a smartphone camera.
- Send a welcome email in bulk: When your clients start using the portal, you can send a welcome email once again highlighting its benefits and sharing useful links to go-to videos and the client help center.
Help clients to find their way
To avoid overwhelming your clients with the portal and make their onboarding smooth, you can help them in different ways:
- Share useful resources: The dedicated client help center provides answers to questions of your clients. You can also use it if your clients ask you something and you want to resolve their issues quickly.
- Give troubleshooting advice: We have guides for different troubleshooting cases your clients might have.
- Log in as clients: If you want to understand the client perspective better, you can explore the client portal in read-only view. Therefore, you will be ready to provide informed advice.
