Windows app interface reference

This article describes the interface elements of the TaxDome Windows app (v4) and the actions available on uploaded files.
App interface
| Element | Description |

| a. Document name and date | The uploaded file’s name and the date and time of upload. |
| b. Client account and folder | The client account and folder for each file uploaded through the app. |
| c. File actions menu | Access actions for the uploaded file—see File actions below. |
| d. Sync status | Shows the current TaxDome Drive sync status (connected/disconnected). |
| e. Sync button | Syncs file statuses with the web app. |
| f. Upload button | Opens the upload window to select files for uploading to TaxDome. See Upload documents . |
| g. Report problem | Opens a dialog to tell us what went wrong and how to reproduce it. See Report an issue . |
| h. Settings | Opens application settings, including the Print documents as images toggle. See how to print and send docs . |
File actions
Once a file is uploaded via the app, you can access document actions from the Status and actions bar.
Actions that open in the browser
When selected, these actions automatically open the relevant page in the TaxDome web app. No additional sign-in is required.

| a. Delivery | Create or update tax return delivery for this document. |
| b. Config & Send | Set up signature, invoice, and job actions together, then notify the client with one confirmation. |
| c. Show on TaxDome | Open the document in your web portal. |
| d. Request e-signatures | Send the document for client to e-sign. |
| e. Manage access | Set individual permissions for team members and clients to view or edit the document. |
| f. Request approval | Request e-feedback (approve/disapprove) from the client. |
| g. Link to invoice | Lock the document to an invoice. |
| h. Link jobs | Link the document to a job in a pipeline. |
Note
Request e-signatures, Request approval, and Link to invoice are available only for documents uploaded to folders with the Client can view
access level. After completing the action in the browser, click Sync status in the app to refresh the document status.
Config & Send
Click Config & Send to open the document’s page in the browser with a Notify your client sidebar, where you can set up any combination of the following before your client gets everything in one notification:
- Request client signature: Choose signers and place signature, initials, date, and text fields on the document.
- Lock to unpaid invoice: Available only when the client has an unpaid invoice to lock the document to.
- Link to job: Attach the document to a job so it can move forward once the document is signed or paid.
Click Notify client to apply everything you’ve set up, or Skip for now to leave the document unconfigured.
Note
Config & Send doesn’t include requesting approval—use the Request approval action for that.In-app actions
These actions run directly in the app without opening a browser window.

Warning
