Docs (Basic): Scan to TaxDome

If your clients come to your office with their paper documents, you can use a scanner to save files directly to TaxDome. There are several ways to do it, and you can choose the one that suits you best:


Note! You need to set up a TaxDome drive on your desktop first. For proper scanning, your scanner must be compatible with WIA or TWAIN drivers.

Scan Right to TaxDome 

The fastest way to get your paper documents to TaxDome is to use TaxDome PDF Scanner which is available in our Windows Desktop App. 

1. Once you have the app installed and TD Drive connected, navigate to the appropriate account, then right-click the folder where you want to save your scanned files. 

2. Click Scan. The document will be scanned, then converted to PDF. The file will be then saved to the chosen folder.


Attention! When using the feature for the first time, click the link to configure your scanner profile. Your native scanner software will open where you will be able to select an existing profile or to create a new one. If you can't set up your scanner, please see our troubleshooting article.

Save Files to the TaxDome Drive From Your Native Scanner Software 

If you prefer to use your scanner software to scan documents, you still can save files directly to your TaxDome drive. Go to the Save option on your scanner software. Select your TaxDome drive in File Explorer, choose the client’s folder, then select the folder. The scanned file will be saved to the client's account on TaxDome.


Tip! Your clients can scan from their mobile phone using the iOS or Android mobile apps. This creates a clean, easy to view PDF for your firm.
