The fastest way to get paper documents onto TaxDome is to use our PDF scanner in our Windows desktop app.

Scan Documents

To scan to a TaxDome drive client account folder:

1. Once you have the app installed and TaxDome drive connected, navigate to the client account, then right-click the folder where you want to save the scanned files.

2. Click Scan. The document will be scanned, converted to a PDF, and saved to the chosen folder.

If you want to scan more pages, click Scan next. Repeat as many times as needed. When you’re done, click Cancel.

Configure Your Scanner Profile

When using the feature for the first time, click the link to configure your scanner profile. Your native scanner software will open a window where you can select an existing profile or create a new one; this should be done only once.

On your scanner software, click Profiles, then create a new profile or edit the existing one.

Customize your scanner profile settings to how you want them. For example, if you want to scan both the front and the back of a page, select Duplex in the Paper source section.

If you’re having problems setting up your scanner, go to our Scan Docs: Troubleshooting page.

Save Files to TaxDome Drive From Your Native Scanner Software

If you prefer to use your scanner software to scan documents, you still can save files directly to your TaxDome drive. Go to the Save option on your scanner software. Select your TaxDome drive in File Explorer, choose the client’s folder, then select the folder. The scanned file will be saved to the client account on TaxDome.
