Create & apply intro templates

Instead of writing the intro for the tax return delivery from scratch for each client, create a reusable template. Once created, a template can be selected when preparing any tax return delivery. In this article, you can learn how to create, duplicate, apply, edit, and delete intro templates.

Create intro templates

Only a firm owner, admin, or employee with access rights to manage templates can create an intro template.

To create an intro template, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Templates > Firm templates from the sidebar menu, then click the Tax return delivery tab.

  2. Click Create template or Create intro template.

  1. Enter the template name in the required field.

  2. Add intro text and shortcodes in the text editor. Also, you can embed a video or image if needed.

  3. Click Save changes.

You can also create a new template right from the Tax return delivery. To do this, in the Intro section, click Intro template and select New template.

Apply intro templates

Once you have created a template, you can apply it when preparing a tax return delivery. To do this:

  1. When preparing the tax return delivery , go to the Intro section.

  2. Click the Intro template and select a template from the list.

  3. Edit the package content if needed. Any changes you make will not affect the template itself.

Edit intro templates

To make changes to an intro template, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Templates > Firm templates from the sidebar menu, then click the Tax return delivery tab.

  2. Click the three dots to the far right of the template name, then select Edit.

  3. Make the necessary changes and click Save changes.

Duplicate intro templates

You can create a new intro template from an existing one. To duplicate the template:

  1. Go to Templates > Firm templates from the sidebar menu, then click the Tax return delivery tab.

  2. Click the three dots to the far right of the template name, then select Duplicate.

A copy of the template will be saved with the suffix (e.g., “Tax Intro (2)”).

Delete intro templates

If you no longer need the intro template, you can remove it to avoid clutter. To do this:

  1. Go to Templates > Firm templates from the sidebar menu, then click the Tax return delivery tab.

  2. Click the three dots to the far right of the template name.

  3. Select Delete and confirm the action.
