TaxDome Kiosk
TaxDome Kiosk in the Firm Mobile App is an in-office workflow for firms that see clients face-to-face. Turn your office tablet into a secure client station where clients can sign documents, pay invoices, review files, and scan papers — without logging into a portal or handling printed forms.
Before you start
TaxDome Kiosk is designed for firms with clients who frequently visit the office. Instead of printing documents, use a tablet to display information and collect e-signatures securely.
Requirements:
- A tablet (iPad or Android). Phones are not supported for TaxDome Kiosk
- TaxDome Firm Mobile App installed – version 3.4.0+
- The staff user logged into the tablet must have access to that client’s account (firm owner, admin or employee with access)
- Camera permission enabled for the Firm Mobile App (required for scanning)
Enter TaxDome Kiosk
To start TaxDome Kiosk you can use the mode-selection screen that appears right after login to the mobile app or tap Client Kiosk on the main screen.
You need to enter your passcode to access TaxDome Kiosk. This ensures security by preventing clients from accessing firm information.
Select a client
- Search for or select the client account.
- Select the specific contact who is in your office. If both spouses come to the appointment, you can select both of them before starting the kiosk session.
- Verify that you’ve selected the correct client before proceeding. The device switches into kiosk view for that client.
What a client can do
After the client is selected, they can see all tasks assigned to them:
Sign documents
Clients can sign pending signature requests directly on the tablet with their finger — no portal login, no printed forms. Once all signers have completed the document, it’s saved to the client’s account in TaxDome.
If the document needs signatures from more than one contact on the same account — for example, both spouses on a joint return, TaxDome Kiosk automatically hands the tablet off to the next signer.
Review documents
Clients can open documents that your firm has sent via Request Client Approval. In the kiosk view, the client will see action: Mark as Reviewed.
Note
This does not update the document status inside TaxDome. It is a local confirmation only. Please rely on the client’s verbal confirmation during the visit. System-level approval will be added in a later phase.Pay invoices
Clients can pay invoices assigned to them. The kiosk screen displays a QR code. Clients scan the QR code with their own phone to complete payment online. No card data is entered on the kiosk device at any point.
If the client wants to pay offline (cash, check, or another offline method), the firm will need to record the payment manually in TaxDome .
Scan documents
Clients can scan paper documents directly from the kiosk device. The scanned files will upload to the client’s profile.
Continue work on their own device
Clients can move seamlessly from the office to the online portal or mobile app: scan the QR code to the client mobile app, or send themselves an email link to log in later.
Switch between contacts
If you selected multiple contacts from the same account (such as spouses) when starting the session, TaxDome Kiosk automatically prompts the next signer during multi-signature flows. You can also change the active contact yourself at any time without ending the session.
End a session
The session automatically ends after 15 minutes of inactivity. To end it manually:
- Tap the account selection, then End session.
- Enter your passcode to return to the client selection screen. The passcode requirement ensures clients cannot access firm data or other client accounts.
Security & controls
- No client passwords are ever used or shared in TaxDome Kiosk
- Clients cannot access firm settings, other clients, contact lists, or internal data – everything is protected by the staff member’s biometrics or passcode and 2FA
- If the client tries to exit or navigate away, the device returns to the kiosk gate and never shows the firm UI
- The session automatically ends after 15 minutes of inactivity
